Grant County Fair isn't quite the World's Fair, but it was better than other fairs we had been to. Jodi's kids all had a pig in the fair this year, so we headed over to check them out. Poor Beau, when they first got the pigs, a piglets, his died. When they went to get the pigs loaded to go to the fair, his wouldn't get up and walk, so the took the spare. They got the pigs to the fair and them set up, and then his died. Matt had to take it to the parking lot and slaughter it right there. No worries, an government official that was up for re-election bought his pig. Beau made out like a bandit, and he didn't have to show the stubborn thing.
Hudson and his pig, Detton wasn't all too sure about being in the pen with the pig.
This had to be about the cutest baby goat ever, too bad they grow up.
The highlight was this great interactive science display. The boys could build things, and try and figure out the mirrors. And......
They had brain teasers, that would fool any adult. My grandma had this horseshoe and ring teaser when we were little. Brandon thought it was impossible, and I couldn't remember how you do it. To say the least, the lady in charge had to come over and show us how to do it.
This is Brandon and Jodi, trying to figure it out, even after we had been shown how.
I had to include this picture, the object was to balance all the nails on the single nail in the block. I tried forever, and then this little 10 year old squirt comes and does it in about a minute. I my defense he had been working that exhibit for the past 3 years, and knew all the tricks. Still it was pretty cool.
Sawyer could have spent a couple hours here. Kaden and Hudson were too cool to stay with us. Hudson is almost 14, so he is more on the look out for girls and food rather than quilts and plants.
There were a ton of other pictures, of the poor chain up elephants that Brandon wouldn't let us ride, and neat birds of prey exhibits, but the pictures were taking too long to load, so you'll just have to imagine that we had a great time.
